DIRECTIONS OF THE MIND
last night went to see BATMAN BEGINS. it has been a while since i went to see a blockbuster movie. these days i prefer mostly foreign indie films but it is discount film week in cooperation with the local supermarket chain. if you buy more than 20 euro worth of groceries, you get the 2nd movie ticket free --> LETS GO.
movie was fun but while watching i realized the power of MAINSTREAM movies. it can really carry a mass of people. in a very smart way, the brain waves of the audience are manipulated, like a mass movement. also i get a quite uncomfortable feeling how obviously excited some people get about seeing violence. it must be the dark side of humans being satisfied. it is no coincidence that violent video games have such a strong popularity amongst its loyal player circles.
the movie was really fun, though and showed me again the big difference between hollywood blockbuster and indie films. everytime i watch a movie like that i feel like i am living in NYC again.
